PMMA Credit Card

Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) Materials

Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA) is used in sheet form as a lightweight or shatter-resistant alternative to glass. Acrylic is an amorphous, hygroscopic, clear thermoplastic resin commonly used in injection molding and extrusion. It has excellent optical clarity, high mechanical strength and rigidity.

PMMA is a versatile material that has low moisture absorption, good UV, weather resistance and easy fabrication. It can also be colored and polished.

Common Biobased Resins include

  • UV resistance
  • Excellent weatherability
  • Clear plastic
  • Colorability
  • Scratch resistance
  • Good mechanical strength
